SMIC Again Wins Largest Participation Award at J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge in Shanghai
On October 18th, 2012, SMIC once again joined the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge in Shanghai. The Corporate Challenge is a global series of 5.6-kilometer races that attracts teams from leading companies to promote team spirit, encourage healthy competition, and support charity. This year’s race was the second annual Shanghai race, with 227 companies and 6500 total participants, nearly double the previous year.
SMIC won the Largest Participation Award for the second year in a row with 300 employees entered in the race. In recognition of this achievement, J.P. Morgan will donate $2000 USD to a charity chosen by SMIC.
SMIC’s runners distinguished themselves on the course: engineer Rice Ma placed among the first 30 male finishers, and Jennifer Dyess placed tenth among the women.
SMIC employees’ enthusiastic participation in the J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge demonstrated the company’s competitive, engaged, and socially responsible spirit. SMIC is committed to promoting the health and physical fitness of employees and their families, and continues to actively encourage employee participation in charitable events.
