SMIC Appoints Dr. Atsushi Hori as General Manager of SMIC Japan

SHANGHAI, May 6, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- SMIC (Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation, NYSE: SMI, SEHK: 981), China's largest and most advanced semiconductor foundry, continues its global presence by announcing Dr. Atsushi Hori as General Manager of SMIC Japan Corporation.  

Dr. Hori received his degree in semiconductor device physics from the University of Tokyo and has more than twenty years of experience in the semiconductor industry in both business and technology. Dr Hori will be responsible for promoting SMIC's process capabilities and manufacturing services to this strategically important region. The SMIC Japan office will be relocated to Shinagawa in the near future.
